The Function Safety Engineer has the responsibility of ensuring the compliance of all safety related system / software activities with the relevant functional safety standards. This includes the safety activities that are responsibility of development supplier as well. She / He would be closely working with the Product owner, cross functional stakeholders and supplier, to ensure the needed safety activities are followed and completed.
Responsibilities
- Initiate project Safety Plan, Test Specification, Safety Case Development, Supplier Joint Review and Confirmation Review.
- Release Safety Plan, Test Specification, Test Report, Safety Case, Functional Safety Joint Review report.
- Ensure execution of needed safety activities.
- Plan further intermediate validation activities during planning the activities (ISO 26262 2018, Part 4, Clause 6.4.6.2) for product development on system level.
- Support the Scrum master and team in building an innovation environment
- Being an SIPD leader and driving supplier discussions, leading time plan, deliveries and integration on vehicles for the passive safety product.
Competencies Needed
B.E / MTech in Electrical, Embedded Software, Electronics and Communication Engineering.Minimum 4 years of experience in automotive system / software development with safety consideration, with ASIL C and ASIL D a plus.Previous experience with functional safety related to ISO 26262 a must.Good, embedded SW / HW knowledge.Experience of complete in-vehicle electrical system development.Experience of automotive E / E system development. (Including system engineering and HW / SW development if applicable)Experience of working with automotive suppliers.Execution of safety activities, such as Hazard Analysis, technical safety concept, functional safety conceptSafety analysis e.g., FMEA, FTAHands-On system engineering knowledge including refinement of safety requirements and decomposition.Cross-functional and teamwork skillsManaging and cooperating with suppliersCoaching individuals, teams and groupsFluent in EnglishSkills Required
