Design engineer

We’re Hiring – BIW Design Engineer (5–8 Years Experience)

Location : Chennai

We are looking for talented BIW Design Engineers with hands-on expertise in CATIA V5, Teamcenter, and Vismockup to join our dynamic team.

Skill Set

Proficient in CATIA V5 (GSD / Sheet Metal / Part / Assembly / Drawing Workbenches)

Strong knowledge of Teamcenter & Vismockup

Domain Knowledge

BIW Design (Underbody / Front End Structure)

Manufacturing processes, tooling, stamping & assembly sequence

AL-PL layout, Master Sections, Vehicle Integration & Packaging

Regulations & Homologation requirements

GD&T (CAD models & drawings)

Familiar with WERS, GPDS & DPA 0 / 1 assessments in E2 KS

Job Responsibilities

Contribute to concept development and VA-VE activities

Develop Body Engineering CAD concepts for PV & CV programs

Define & implement joining strategies (Spot Welding, MIG, etc.)

Ensure design compliance with BIW, technical & structural requirements

Coordinate with manufacturing for feasible mass production solutions

Collaborate with CAE team to meet Safety, NVH, Deflection & Fatigue targets

Ensure proper interfaces & clearances meeting DPA standards

Conduct timely engineering reviews of CAD

Work cross-functionally (Suspension, Powertrain, Manufacturing, Exterior / Interior)

Interpret DFMEA, DVP&R, GD&T to support D&R and enhance design quality
