Key Responsibilities

Identification and Authentication : Determining if a gemstone is natural, synthetic, or an imitation, and identifying its origin.

Grading and Valuation : Assessing gemstones based on the 4Cs (cut, clarity, color, carat weight) and providing appraisals for insurance or sales.

Cutting and Polishing : Shaping and polishing rough stones to enhance their brilliance, color, and clarity using techniques like faceting.

Jewelry Design and Crafting : Designing and creating jewelry, setting stones, and repairing existing pieces.

Sales and Consultation : Advising clients, retailers, and designers on selecting and purchasing gemstones and jewelry.

Required Skills and Knowledge

Gemological Knowledge : Understanding of gemstone properties, crystal structures, and phenomena.
