Role Overview :
As the Director of Sales at SolarSquare , you will lead and build a world-class, customer-centric sales organization. Inspired by brands like Zappos, Swiggy, and Amex, we aim to create a powerful sales engine that delivers a consistent and delightful customer experience while reimagining home energy through rooftop solar solutions. We're looking for a proven sales leader from a high-growth startup environment - someone result-oriented, strategic, and execution-driven. You will head a 100+ member team and play a key role in driving SolarSquare's mission to become India's #1 new-age solar brand.
Key Responsibilities :
Sales Strategy & Execution :
1. Own the Sales architecture for SolarSquare, including strategic planning, org design, SOPs, process-tech and team culture.
2. Develop and implement a scalable sales process from prospecting / demand generation through contract execution along with handling a P&L.
3. Develop actionable plans for market segmentation, pricing, channel development, and product positioning.
4. Drive consistent monthly and quarterly performance in terms of sales closures, activations, and customer satisfaction.
Team Leadership & Development :
1. Lead and inspire a 100+ member field sales team across Central Maharashtra.
2. Build scalable structures and governance mechanisms for daily reviews, incentive alignment, and goal setting.
3. Mentor City Managers and Team Leaders to grow into strong second-line leadership.
4. Work with internal team members to ensure successful onboarding and implementation for new customers.
5. Leads the design and execution of sales strategies that meet or exceed SolarSquare's growth, retention, and revenue projections.
6. Develop training programs and sales enablement strategies to improve productivity and skill levels.
Customer Centricity & Process Excellence :
1. Build a customer-first sales engine that delivers delightful experiences from lead generation to installation.
2. Coordinate with logistics, design, engineering, and post-sales teams to ensure seamless customer fulfillment.
3. Monitor sales funnel metrics to identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements.
4. Own NPS and customer satisfaction KPIs for the zone.
Business Intelligence & Market Insights :
1. Conduct regular market research to understand customer behavior, pricing sensitivity, and competitive landscape.
2. Leverage data dashboards and CRM reports to track team performance and sales funnel health.
3. Present monthly business reviews and insights to senior leadership.
Cross-Functional Collaboration :
1. Work with marketing to launch localized campaigns and optimize lead generation.
2. Partner with HR and TA to build a robust hiring and onboarding engine for the sales team.
3. Collaborate with Product and Tech to provide frontline feedback for new features or tools.
Who We Are Looking For :
Must-Have Qualifications :
1. MBA from a reputed institute or equivalent professional experience.
2. 8-12 years of B2C sales experience, preferably in fast-growing startups or consumer industries (e.g., solar, FMCG, telecom, mobility, fintech).
3. Proven track record of managing and scaling large field teams (30+ people).
4. Demonstrated ability to drive revenue and build operations in multiple cities.
5. Age limit up to 35 years
