A reputable and well-known fashion retail brand with over 50+ retail stores as well as distribution centers throughout Australia. We are a people-centered business with more than 5,000 team employees across our locations.

Our client takes great delight in offering high-quality items and a track record of steady expansion is looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Officer.

THE OPPORTUNITY

A team of 10 people includes an Accounts Receivable Officer who reports to the Finance Manager. Key responsibilities include :

  • Daily processing of all bank receipts ensuring accurate and complete allocation of all customer and general ledger receipts.
  • Ensuring resolution of any query or short payment by a customer is resolved in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring customer statements are issued on a regular monthly basis to minimize arrears.
  • Ensuring invoices for “non-standard” charges and cost recoveries are timely so there is efficient financial reporting and customer payment.
  • Ensuring customer credit notes and refunds are valid, authorized and processed in a timely manner.
  • Managing and processing receipts across the various companies, including intercompany receipts.
  • Processing EFTPOS and Credit Card payments.
  • Addressing and responding to customer inquiries and following up as required with internal staff.
  • Reconciliation of customer accounts and follow up where required.
  • Providing weekly performance reports of accounts receivable process.
  • Managing the monthly reconciliation of control accounts.

Skills and Experience required :

  • 2-3 years accounts receivable or general accounting experience.
  • Experience in working within high volume environments
  • Knowledge of relevant accounting software
  • An understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting skills.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office knowledge and skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • High degree of attention to detail and accurate data entry skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written
