Job Title : Patching Automation Engineer / Sr. : : Summary :
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Patching Automation Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain automation scripts for our patch management processes across various systems and applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in scripting languages like Python, PowerShell, or Bash, and a solid understanding of infrastructure automation tools and testing frameworks. This role is critical in driving efficiency, scalability, and security across our IT Responsibilities :
- Design, develop, and maintain automation scripts (Python / PowerShell / Bash) to streamline patch management workflows.
- Collaborate with DevOps and Infrastructure teams to integrate scripts into existing CI / CD pipelines and automation platforms
such as Ansible, Harness, and others.
Maintain deep understanding of infrastructure components, application dependencies, and system interactions to ensure effective patch deployment.Identify and troubleshoot issues related to automated patching, testing, and deployment processes.Partner with Security and Network Operations teams to ensure patching activities align with internal compliance and security requirements.Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in automation and patch Qualifications :Proven experience in automation scripting using Python, PowerShell, or Bash.Hands-on experience with automation / configuration management tools like Ansible, Harness, or similar.Strong understanding of patch management processes across Windows, Linux, and / or cloud environments.Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and CI / CD pipeline integration.Ability to analyze system logs and troubleshoot issues in complex environments.Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical Qualifications :Experience with enterprise-scale IT environments.Familiarity with vulnerability management tools (e.g., Qualys, Tenable, etc.)Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and associated patching strategies.Exposure to infrastructure-as-code and DevSecOps practices.(ref : hirist.tech)
