Role : OSS & Automation Engineer (FCAPS Integration Specialist)

Job Description :
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced OSS & Automation Engineer to play a pivotal role in designing, building, and integrating our Operations Support Systems (OSS) with a strong emphasis on FCAPS Telecom integration capabilities. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in the telecom domain, particularly within 5G / LTE cellular networks and cloud-native environments, and a passion for automation and open-source technologies. This role requires a strong understanding of FCAPS principles and their practical application in OSS for Inventory Management, Fault Management, and Performance Management.
Responsibilities :
- Architect and build complex OSS monitoring tools and automation frameworks from scratch, specifically focusing on FCAPS integration for Inventory, Fault, and Performance Management.
- Design, develop, and improve existing tools and integrate them into a cohesive OSS ecosystem.
Inventory Management :
Oversee OSS Sites / Devices Inventory Management, including the integration of network devices with OSS inventory modules.Implement and manage auto-inventory reconciliation (syncing) with various data sources like EMS / OBF.Manage the full lifecycle of devices within the OSS inventory.Fault Management :
Develop and integrate FCAPS tools for Fault Management, including NBI integration with EMS using SNMP traps, OID / MIBs, and ETSI / JSON formats for fault parsing.Implement robust Network Topology for accurate Fault Correlation, spanning from top-level to RAN devices.Design and implement auto-incident / auto-ticketing mechanisms based on configured and correlated faults.Performance Management :
Architect and implement FCAPS tools for Performance Management, focusing on counters, formulas, and KPIs for troubleshooting.Develop and analyze KPI and counter-related problems to optimize network performance.Work closely with Product, Delivery, Software Development, and various cross-functional teams to ensure successful new product developments and rollouts.Coordinate with the Integration team (OBF) for seamless new network integrations with OSS.Analyze customer requirements, translate them into system requirements, and capture detailed designs for the development team.Responsible for analyzing and troubleshooting issues reported during lab testing and production environments.Identify and eliminate defects and errors with Product and Development teams for released features.Handle trouble tickets within defined SLAs.Track issues related to tools, timely escalation, and follow-up as per pre-defined matrix.Ensure customer commitments are achieved per plan.Prepare comprehensive documentation, including Low-Level Design (LLD) and High-Level Design (HLD) for products and reports.Required Skills and Experience :
Minimum 8 to 12 years of experience in the RF Telecom domain (5G / 4G / Cloud) or Software Domain with a strong focus on FCAPS system automation, tools design, and development.Experience in telecom domain 5G / LTE cellular networks, including cloud-native environments.Understanding of Open RAN concepts.Strong knowledge of FCAPS tools and their application in OSS.Expertise in architecting and building complex OSS monitoring tools and automation frameworks.Proficiency in Telecom Network Routers / devices IP-level troubleshooting.Deep understanding of FCAPS tools Performance Management, including Counters / Formulas / KPIs architecture.Knowledge of Telecom Network Fault Monitoring tool NBI integration with EMS and methodologies (SNMP traps, OID / MIBs, ETSI / JSON format).Experience with Network Topology for Fault Correlation and Auto Incident / Auto ticketing.Understanding of Automation lifecycle management / Agile methodology.Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.Proficiency with Linux OS tools, SQL, and utilities.Familiarity with Jira and Confluence.Familiarity with Kubernetes, Prometheus, and Grafana Monitoring Tools (added advantage).Familiarity with JSON API / RESTful HTTP is required.Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.Knowledge of software languages like Python and JAVA (added advantage).Understanding of 3GPP and ETSI Specifications : Architecture, Protocols, and Procedures.Understanding of cloud technologies, Kubernetes environments, and Docker.Education & Qualification :
