Role Description
The Admission Counsellor is responsible for managing the entire admission process, handling public relations, planning digital and offline marketing activities, promoting school branding, increasing walk-ins for admissions and recruitment, and converting enquiries into admissions. The role also includes field work to study nearby schools and market trends.
Key Responsibilities
1. Admissions & Counselling
- Handle enquiries through phone, email, social media, and walk-ins.
- Counsel prospective parents on curriculum, facilities, and admission procedures.
- Conduct school tours for parents and prospective students.
- Maintain enquiry records, follow-up logs, and conversion reports.
- Achieve monthly and yearly admission targets.
2. Marketing & Branding
Plan and execute digital marketing campaigns (social media, Google Ads, SEO, website updates).Implement offline marketing strategies such as brochures, banners, flyers, community events, and outreach programmes.Coordinate with designers / marketing agencies for branding materials.Ensure consistent brand identity across all platforms.3. Public Relations (PR)
Build and maintain relationships with parents, communities, corporates, pre-schools, and partner organisations.Represent the school in fairs, exhibitions, and outreach events.Draft promotional content, press notes, and announcements.Address parent queries and collect feedback professionally.4. Field Work & Market Study
Conduct regular field visits to nearby schools, pre-schools, residential communities, and educational zones.Study competitor school offerings, fee structures, USPs, marketing strategies, and admission processes.Identify potential feeder schools and partnership opportunities.Analyse local demographics to understand parent expectations and admission trends.Prepare reports and recommendations based on field study to support marketing and admission planning.5. Strategy & Planning
Develop annual, quarterly, and monthly marketing plans.Track market trends and competitor activities to refine admission strategies.Support school events such as open houses, orientation programmes, and promotional activities.Suggest initiatives to increase walk-ins and improve brand visibility.6. Reporting & Documentation
Maintain weekly and monthly admission performance reports.Track enquiry sources and measure ROI of marketing campaigns.Present insights and recommendations to school management
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communication, or related fields.1–3 years of experience in school admissions / education sector (preferred).Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.Knowledge of digital marketing tools and strategies.Ability to perform effective field research and competitor analysis.Proficiency in MS Office, CRM, and social media management.
