Job Purpose : Head - Stores - Large Site manages timely receipt of material / packages, proper storage, accounting and timely issuance to relevant user departments as per requirements. Responsible for classification, storage and liquidation of waste and scrap as per defined guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the stores team to carry out regular reviews of stores and procures.
- Define SOPs and guidelines for store management, inventory control and scrap Management
- Review and update the coding and organization of the inventory.
- All spare parts are maintained by equipment and by location.
- Replaced spare parts of a threshold approved by management are properly kept in secure place and disposed in line with company policy and procedures.
- Review on a regular basis the inventory min-max levels and advise appropriate adjustment.
- Ensure the spares received with new equipment are promptly recorded in system
- Ensure all goods delivered in store by suppliers are promptly updated in stores system.
- Provide support during mid and year end stock taking exercise and ensure variances are resolved promptly.
- Carry out analysis of stores' consumption, establish trends and advise unusual variations.
- Communicate to the user department on a weekly basis stock ite which are below re-order level for initiation of requisition or comments.
- Advise appraise training and development program required for the stores team to cope with various changes in the field.
- Stores' documents are properly kept for future reference and audits.
- Review and submit desired MIS to Site TC Head / BU TC Head.
- Identification and execution of corrective actions.
- Monitor & resolve any discrepancies between electronic records that represent the inventory and the physical state of the inventory.
- Lead the process of identification and liquidation of non-moving inventory (NMI).
- Carry out liquidation of assets (identified by concerned user) and other material including NMIs to be scrapped and ensure optimal price through Scrap management committee discussions
- Any other duties / work that may be assigned by the management from time to time .
Qualifications
Educational Qualification
Bachelor's Degree, supply chain management, business administration or related area.Experience
