Job Summary

JOB DESCRIPTION

The SQL Server DBA is responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical DB servers, to ensure the availability and consistent performance of the applications. This is a hands-on position requiring proven technical skills, good interpersonal and excellent oral and written communication.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be :

• Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and debugging tools.
• Experience with backups, restores, and recovery models.
• Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems.
• Experience implementing and handling encryption lifecycle.
• Installing, Configuring, and Upgrading SQL Server / Applying Service Packs.
• Server and Database Security Administration.
• Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members.
• Manage SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments from development to production systems.
• Configure SQL Server monitoring utilities to minimize false alarms.
• When performance issues arise, identify the most effective way to increase performance including hardware purchases.
• Planning for capacity and handling client interactions in preparation for upcoming migrations.
• Ability to build standard operating procedures for technical solutions and train operational teams.
• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot SQL Server Replication (Transactional, Merge, Snapshot).
• Monitor replication performance, latency, and conflicts to ensure data consistency and minimal downtime.
