Vice President - Platform & Cloud

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced engineering leader to drive the strategy and execution of the platform organization. This role will oversee core infrastructure, developer experience, data platforms, and frontend frameworks that power large-scale SaaS products across global markets. The ideal candidate is a builder at heart, a people-first leader, and a trusted partner to product and executive teams.

What You'll Do

• Platform Roadmap & Strategy : Define and communicate a 12–18 month vision for the platform organization, aligning technical direction with business priorities. Focus on building scalable foundations for micro-frontends, backend services, data pipelines, and multi-region deployments.
• Frontend Enablement : Establish frameworks and shared component libraries to accelerate development in modern stacks (Vue, TypeScript, Node). Reduce friction for engineers by automating boilerplate and ensuring consistent quality.
• Data Platform & Compliance : Build unified approaches for ingestion, governance, observability, and schema validation across multiple data stores (MongoDB, Firestore, Elasticsearch). Architect and implement data-residency models that satisfy global regulations across EU, US, and APAC regions.
• Infrastructure & Cloud Operations : Lead ownership of Kubernetes clusters, networking, IaC (Terraform, Helm), and cloud security. Drive initiatives for resilience, cost optimization, and operational efficiency.
• Developer Experience & Reliability : Champion robust CI / CD pipelines, progressive rollout practices, fault-injection testing, and end-to-end observability standards. Ensure developers can move fast without sacrificing reliability.
• Security & Compliance : Partner with InfoSec and Legal teams to integrate controls for SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR, and other regional frameworks. Promote "shift-left" practices like automated scanning and policy-as-code.
• Leadership & Culture : Grow and mentor engineers across platform, infrastructure, and data domains. Foster a culture of trust, ownership, and inclusion while holding a high bar for technical excellence.
• Cross-Functional Influence : Translate technical health metrics (lead-time, MTTR, failure rates, cost efficiency) into business outcomes. Communicate effectively with executive leadership, product partners, and engineering peers.
