Role Description -
- Leather Industry Experience & Immediate Joiners Preferred
The Merchandiser will act as the key link between customers and internal teams—from sampling to final shipment. The role includes work order issuance, costing, production tracking, and customer communication, while supporting new product development (NPD) and sourcing. Reporting to the Sales Manager this role ensures smooth coordination across production, sourcing, design, and dispatch.
What You’ll Do
Issue clear and accurate work orders to production and suppliers.Prepare and update costing sheets in coordination with sourcing, production, and finance teams.Track production status and provide timely updates to customers.Serve as the primary communication point between clients and internal teams.Coordinate with design, sampling, and sourcing teams for NPD activities.Draft professional customer emailers for order updates, feedback, and confirmations.Support sourcing of materials, hardware, and trims based on requirements.Maintain accurate documentation for work orders, costing, shipments, and client correspondence.Work with QA and logistics teams to ensure product quality and on-time delivery.Provide regular order status reports and attend internal review meetings.Ensure all merchandising activities follow SA8000 and ISO compliance standards.Qualifications
Degree or Diploma in Merchandising, Fashion Management, Leather Technology, or Business.4–8 years of merchandising or production coordination experience, preferably in leather goods / fashion / export manufacturing.Strong knowledge of Excel, ERP / MIS systems, and costing.Excellent written and verbal communication skills for customer interaction.Experience with international clients (EU, Japan, US) preferred.Understanding of leather materials, trims, and production processes.
