This isn't a "manage existing systems" role — it's a "build the engine while flying the plane" opportunity.

ROLE OVERVIEW

Lead Gajab's end-to-end marketplace operations — from product cataloging and inventory management to order fulfillment, delivery, and customer satisfaction.

You'll build from absolute zero — defining processes, hiring the right people, and scaling from 500 to 15,000+ orders / day within 12 months.

Target : Achieve ₹100 Cr GMV with 20 lakh orders in Year 1 (₹400–₹500 AOV).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations Ownership

  • Manage the full operational pipeline — catalog creation, inventory tracking, order processing, delivery, returns, and exchanges
  • Build and refine SOPs for product listings, order management, logistics, and dispute handling
  • Lead product onboarding to ensure high-quality listings and clean data management

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Align Customer Support, Catalog, Product, Finance, HR, and Marketing teams for smooth operations
  • Collaborate with sellers, suppliers, and logistics partners for product availability and timely delivery
  • Partner with tech to build automation into offer acceptance, order routing, and fulfillment tracking
  • Quality & Performance Management

  • Oversee dispute resolution, refunds, and customer experience improvement
  • Develop dashboards for KPIs — order flow, delays, returns, and seller performance

    Must-Have Experience

  • 6–8+ years in eCommerce or D2C operations
  • Built operations from scratch in startups
  • Scaled ops 5–10x in resource-constrained environments
  • Skills & Mindset

  • Builder mentality, resourceful, bias for action
  • Data-driven, process-oriented, and highly organized
  • Thrives in fast-paced, high-growth setups
  • Operational Knowledge

  • Strong leadership & communication (English + Hindi)
  • Proficient with Google Sheets, Notion, Zoho, or ERPs
  • Experienced in dashboarding and analytics
  • Bonus Points

  • Understanding of tier 2 / 3 Indian consumers
  • Experience in value commerce or negotiation platforms
  • Retail / offline bazaar background
  • Scaled startups from seed to Series A

    Compensation : Competitive salary based on experience and fit.

    Location : Marol, Andheri East, Mumbai

    Work Mode : 5 days / week in-office, Saturdays WFH

    Additional Benefits : 2 WFH days / month for mental or menstrual health
