About us

We’re on a mission to create a brighter future, where you can be a change maker at the actual source. We’re one of Australia’s largest water utilities with over 30% of Victoria’s population relying on us for their essential water and sanitation services.

Our award-winning culture fosters an inclusive, collaborative, and flexible environment that enables our people to thrive. Here, you’ll be inspired and challenged to grow alongside us.

We're committed to reconciliation and supporting the self-determined role for Traditional Owners / Custodians in water and land management.

The role

The Change Partner is a change leader and strategic advisor responsible for enabling Yarra Valley Water’s longer-term transformation agenda across the Asset Transformation & Technology (AT&T) portfolio. Sitting at the intersection of strategy, people, and execution, the Change Partner plays a key role in shaping the technology portfolio and ensuring high-quality delivery of programs and initiatives that drive business & customer value.

While the role has strategic orientation, focused on long-term people readiness, leadership alignment, and transformation success, it also oversees the tactical delivery of change initiatives. This ensures the translation of AT&T strategy into well-executed change delivery, with consistent standards, effective communication, and high engagement across impacted teams.

Your key responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, shaping and aligning transformation strategy with cultural and capability readiness across a long-term (5–10-year) horizon.
  • Co-design and deliver change pathways in partnership with key business groups to build stakeholder resilience and adaptability.
  • Lead the uplift of change maturity, embedding fit-for-purpose change practices and enabling business-as-usual self-sufficiency.
  • Provide hands-on change management expertise across key projects, including impact assessments, strategy and plan development, and benefits realisation.
  • Drive adoption and ownership of change initiatives across the key business staekholders.
  • Coach and develop leaders and project professionals to strengthen change capability and confidence.
  • Integrate change and transformation delivery with EPMO and project governance frameworks to ensure alignment and consistency.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to deliver practical, leader-led outcomes that protect and enhance organisational culture.
  • Monitor and report on change load, adoption, and benefits, providing insights that inform strategic decisions.
  • Foster collaboration and one-team alignment, ensuring cross-functional engagement and shared accountability for outcomes.
  • What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience leading and delivering complex change and transformation initiatives, including digital technology, data, process and overall workplace change.
  • Advanced capability across the full spectrum of change management practices, from impact assessments and strategy development to communications, engagement, learning, and readiness activities.
  • Strong background in project management approaches (Waterfall and Agile), with the ability to apply structured principles to achieve delivery excellence.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, influence and build capability in others to lead and sustain change.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with a talent for communicating effectively across all levels, including executive leaders.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to identify organisational challenges, assess impacts, and recommend practical, people-focused solutions.
  • A self-motivated, resilient, and adaptable professional who thrives in dynamic environments, balancing flexibility with accountability.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (Business, Commerce or related field) and professional change certifications (e.g., Prosci®, CMI Master Level, or APMG) are highly desirable.
