We are strengthening our Digital Platform footprint in India and are looking for an ITH Platform Department Manager to grow our local presence and amplify its value. This role will be central in expanding teams, attracting talent, and nurturing collaboration both with global colleagues and local departments outside the platform area, while fostering a culture of engineering excellence
The Digital Platform is at the heart of enabling digital transformation. It provides the infrastructure, tools, and frameworks that make up our platform ecosystem. We are on an exciting journey to rebuild and unify our platform delivery, creating a modern, opinionated digital foundation that accelerates innovation, improves efficiency, and ensures security and resilience.
As ITH Platform Department Manager , you will be reporting to the Global Head of Platform and contribute to the overall platform delivery in its global context. While the global organization in Sweden will set the strategic direction and roadmap, you will be a key leader locally ensuring effective delivery, people growth, and operational excellence. Over time, the role may evolve as the India organization expands and takes on broader responsibilities. By managing people, technology, and delivery impact, you will ensure that the India teams become an even more integrated and valuable part of our global platform organization. The platform organization sits across a multitude of capabilities, existing of but not limited to, Platform Security, Developer Experience, Identity Management, Hosting, Integration, Cloud, legacy environments and Digital Workplace.
- Lead a multi-disciplinary organization consisting of Engineering and Domain Managers, Service Managers / Owners, Product Managers and Engineers, ensuring effective collaboration and alignment across functions
- Grow and strengthen the Digital Platform footprint in India by hiring, developing, and enabling top talent across engineering and management roles.
- Foster collaboration and trust, ensuring the India teams thrive in an environment of engagement, learning, and inclusion, while working seamlessly with global colleagues
- Drive delivery excellence, balancing modernization efforts with the ongoing responsibility of supporting and evolving legacy platform environments such as mainframe, iSeries, and legacy integration platforms.
- Promote modern engineering practices, including the adoption of cloud-native technologies built primarily on Microsoft Azure, containerized workloads using Kubernetes, helping identify opportunities for improvement and transformation within existing landscapes
- Represent the platform organization and be a key collaborator locally across the federated digital functions, i.E Industrial Operations, Commercial, Engineering, HR, Finance and Digital Core
- Be the local interface and facilitator related to Vendor & Sourcing Management
- Mentor and develop leaders and engineers, supporting both technical depth and leadership capability.
- Embed data-driven ways of working and ensure that cyber security readiness is an integral part of platform operations
Do you fit the profile?
We are seeking a proven senior technology leader with at least 12+ years of experience in engineering, platform delivery, or large-scale IT transformation, including several years in leadership roles. You bring demonstrated success and experience in building and scaling organizations and teams in India, preferably in a global context and have the credibility to operate across complex and global enterprises with a diverse technology stack.
To succeed in this role, you should have :
Experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams and driving delivery at scaleStrong ability to navigate both legacy IT landscapes (e.G. mainframe, iSeries, legacy integration) and modern digital platforms (e.G. cloud-native, containerized, service-based)Solid understanding of Microsoft Azure, Kubernetes, and associated DevOps practices.Deep understanding of operational excellence and delivery in large-scale environmentsExcellent cross-cultural communication skills, with the ability to connect local and global perspectivesA growth mindset, with a passion for people, technology, and creating impactProven experience and well-grounded with cloud native environments, modern engineering practices, and digital transformation initiativesExperience from managing or delivering within legacy platform environments.Leadership and people management experience, ideally including growing teams and expanding organizational footprintsExperience from IT / Digital within the automotive industry is beneficialAdvanced degrees or certifications in Cloud, Platform Engineering, or Leadership are a plusBachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
