We are looking for a Project Manager who can take full ownership of civil and infrastructure projects across our institution. This role suits someone who is comfortable being on site, understands the realities of execution and can balance design intent, timelines, budgets and contractor performance without losing sight of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities include but not limited to :
- Develop detailed work schedules, material plans and execution strategies before project kickoff.
- Break down drawings into actionable site tasks and allocate responsibilities to contractors and site teams.
- Closely monitor daily progress, highlight deviations and implement corrective actions immediately rather than waiting for review cycles.
- Ensure work is carried out exactly as per drawings, specifications, structural requirements and approved materials.
- Identify reliable contractors, suppliers, architects and consultants based on past performance, quality and financial stability.
- Prepare BOQs, tenders, RFQs and compare technical and commercial proposals for finalization.
- Drive weekly review meetings with vendors and contractors to resolve bottlenecks and keep the project on schedule.
- Negotiate timelines, costs and scope changes with strong focus on value engineering.
- Conduct continuous checks on shuttering, reinforcement, concreting, masonry, electrical, plumbing and interior works.
- Ensure only approved materials are used and conduct random inspections for quality audits.
- Implement safety practices on-site like PPE usage, barricading, working at height protocols and emergency guidelines.
- Coordinate statutory inspections and ensure compliance with local building regulations, labour norms and environmental requirements.
- Prepare and track project budgets, ensuring actual spends stay aligned with planned costs.
- Verify measurements, validate contractor bills, check material consumption and prevent cost leakages.
- Maintain updated project records like drawings, approvals, work orders, variation reports and site logs.
- Prepare accurate MIS updates with progress photos, cost status, risk alerts and next-week work plans.
- Liaise with architects, structural consultants, MEP teams, procurement, finance and school leadership for smooth workflow.
- Anticipate execution challenges early and communicate clear action plans to internal teams.
- Coordinate handover activities, including snag lists, rectification cycles and documentation closure.
Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of civil, electrical, plumbing and interior execution.Ability to interpret complex technical drawings and convert them into site actions.Deep knowledge of sequencing of works, resource planning, labour deployment and material management.Skilled in contractor management, negotiation and resolving on-site issues efficiently.Proficiency in MS Project, Excel and basic project management tools for tracking timelines and costs.Strong communication and documentation skills with a problem-solving mindset.Ability to independently handle multiple sites and manage pressure during peak activity phases.Qualifications & Experience
B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering (mandatory).7 - 10 years of experience in construction project execution and management.Experience working on institutional, educational or commercial building projects is an advantage.This Role offers :
