Job Description

This role leads the operational security response function, managing a team of analysts and acting as the technical escalation point. The role is responsible for triaging vulnerabilities, supporting application security, and driving incident response maturity across the agency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead triage of vulnerabilities from Tenable Nessus, AWS Sec Hub, GuardDuty, and other tooling.
  • Support cloud application teams to meet DevSecOps best practice
  • Handle escalations from the Cyber Security Operations Centre (CSOC).
  • Develop and maintain security incident playbooks.
  • Engage with incident management, product, and delivery leads to uplift security practices.
  • Raise innovation initiatives through agency forums to improve hardened controls and automation.
  • Report on compliance evidence for DI accreditation

Qualification

Security Clearance

  • Current Baseline Security Clearance and willingness to upgrade to NV1
  • Australian Citizens with ability to obtain a clearance considered
