Inviting applications for the role of Principal Consultant_Workday Financials Techno-Functional - AMS Support

The Workday Financials Techno-Functional Consultant is responsible for providing production support, maintenance, and minor enhancements for the Workday Financials platform. The consultant combines functional knowledge of finance and accounting processes with technical expertise in Workday configuration, reporting, and integrations to ensure system stability, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

1. Incident, Problem & Change Management

Provide day-to-day AMS support for production issues and change requests across Financial modules.

Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve user-reported functional and data issues.

Perform root-cause analysis and implement permanent fixes where applicable.

Track and report ticket status to meet AMS SLAs and KPIs.

2. Functional Configuration Support

Maintain configuration for key Financial modules : Core Financials, Accounting, FDM, Banking & Settlements, Procurement, Expenses, Projects, Customer Accounts (AR), Supplier Accounts (AP), Assets, and Business Assets.

Evaluate change requests, test configurations, and document updates.

Support month-end and year-end close processes and resolve related issues.

Maintain configuration workbooks and functional documentation.

3. Technical & Integration Support

Manage data corrections and updates using EIBs and mass upload tools.

Monitor and validate financial integrations with banks, procurement systems, and ERPs.

Collaborate with integration developers for issue resolution and data reconciliation.

Validate financial data after tenant refreshes and Workday releases.

4. Reporting & Compliance

Develop and maintain custom financial reports and dashboards for GL, AP, AR, and Projects.

Support compliance and audit reporting requirements (SOX, statutory, and internal controls).

Assist in financial data reconciliations and analytics for business users.

5. Release & Continuous Improvement

Review and test new Workday release features recommend adoption opportunities.

Participate in regression testing cycles and coordinate defect resolution.

Identify automation and process optimization opportunities for ongoing AMS delivery.

6. Governance & Collaboration

Partner with Finance and IT teams to prioritize incidents and enhancements.

Participate in daily AMS status calls and weekly governance reviews.

Update KT documents, AMS logs, and control registers.

Ensure compliance with financial policies, audit requirements, and data privacy standards.

Domain Expertise

Solid understanding of any of Core Financials, Accounting, FDM, Banking, Procurement, Projects, Expenses, Supplier Accounts (AP), Customer Accounts (AR), Assets, and Business Assets.

Experience with period close, journal processing, cash management, reconciliation, and project costing.

Knowledge of US, Mexico, and India localization and statutory reporting.

Familiarity with Workday Financial Data Model (FDM) and intercompany accounting.

Understanding of integration touchpoints with payroll, HR, and external financial systems.

Technical Skills

Proficient in EIB, Report Writer, and Core Connectors able to troubleshoot integration issues.

Basic knowledge of Workday Studio, Prism Analytics, and Business Assets setup.

Familiar with security configuration, domain policies, and segregation of duties ( SoD ).

Qualifications we seek in you !

Minimum Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or Information Systems.

Workday certification is preferred in Core Financials and at least one specialization (Procurement, Projects, or Banking).

Extensive Workday Financials experience Good experience in AMS or post-go-live support.

Preferred Qualifications :

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Experience supporting global or multi-entity organizations across multiple legal entities.
