About the Role :

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a supportive department to accomplish great things! North Canberra Hospital is currently seeking a senior occupational therapist to join our acute team for a period of six months. The senior Occupational Therapist is an important leadership role within the North Canberra Hospital acute team, responsible for the coordination and provision of day-to-day occupational therapy services to a range of patients within the acute hospital. You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care while collaborating with a close-knit, supportive multidisciplinary team.

In addition to a clinical workload, you’ll provide clinical supervision and mentorship to a motivated group of junior occupational therapists, supporting them to further grow their clinical skills and knowledge. You’ll have ready access to guidance from other senior clinicians, a Clinical Educator and the Director of Occupational Therapy, ensuring you’re well supported while you lead. The current vacancy is within the acute hospital team, with some flexibility in coverage area dependent on the skills and experience of the successful applicant – please contact the contact officer to discuss this further.

A merit pool may be established from this recruitment process and will be used for the next 12 months to fill various positions both on a temporary and permanent basis with full-time and part-time opportunities available.
