Estimation and Doc Control

Profile Summary

The Estimator must have a proven track record and succeed with maintaining the same while managing complex structural and architectural steel projects to profitability. This role requires strong acumen with contract drawings, purchasing, detailing, engineering, documentation, fabrication, erection, forecasting, scheduling, coatings, and shipping in regards to steel. Requires knowledge of American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), American Welding Society (AWS), The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and National Institute of Steel Design (NISD) standards.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Work closely with team members to prepare / submit project estimates
• Analyze project blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to accurately prepare and estimate
• Knowledge of structural steel members, connections, embeds, stairs, railings, ladders, catwalks, grating structures, and miscellaneous architectural metals
• Must comply with requirements of the design drawings and all industry standards and protocols, such as those established by AISC, AWS, and comply with current OSHA and NISD guidelines
• Calculation skills for detailing hours to prepare thorough and accurate estimates
• Collaborate with team members to rate size, scope and timelines / deadlines of projects
• Review all construction documents including instructions to bidders and scope of work
• Ability to meet deadlines on a regular basis while maintaining a high level of accuracy and quality
