About the Role (Job Purpose) :
The Manager of Holiday Products & Strategy is a critical leadership position responsible for defining, developing, and leading the execution of the companys comprehensive holiday strategy. This role manages the entire product lifecycle, from initial planning and contracting through to sales execution and revenue analysis. The incumbent will be instrumental in maximizing value from key third-party partnerships, ensuring an enhanced customer experience, and maintaining direct accountability for the division's financial performance (P&L).
Key Lifecycle & Strategy (Primary Focus) :
- Manage the complete product line life cycle, encompassing strategic planning, development, launch, and ongoing optimization of holiday offerings.
- Conduct continuous market analysis, studying current consumer preferences, local holiday calendars, and emerging travel trends to inform product creation and pricing.
- Design and establish competitive pricing models for diverse itineraries (FIT / GIT) across various budget categories.
- Develop new packages and product lines specifically aligned with current market requirements and competitor activities.
Sourcing & Operations :
Lead the process of contracting with international suppliers and manage the end-to-end product delivery process.Implement innovative contracting methods and conduct effective negotiation to ensure optimal cost management and value for money.Maintain and ensure adequate inventory of various holiday products is readily available and accessible for the sales team.Sales Enablement & Revenue Generation :
Be the primary product advocate, creating product awareness among the sales team and providing necessary training and support to facilitate effective selling.Drive daily revenue targets by monitoring sales performance, adjusting strategic approaches, and implementing tactical, short-term initiatives to meet overall financial goals.Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop and execute a comprehensive marketing plan designed to effectively promote specific destinations and product launches.Build and maintain healthy relationships with key customers and initiate proactive customer engagement activities to foster loyalty and repeat business.Financial Management & P&L Accountability :
Hold full responsibility for the Profit & Loss (P&L) of the entire holiday division.Manage divisional revenue by making data-driven pricing decisions based on current market dynamics and analysis of historical revenue and sales data.Implement strategies to meet both short-term sales goals and long-term strategic revenue growth objectives.Team Leadership & Development :
Provide direct training and coaching to new sales consultants joining the team.Partner with the training and performance management division to structure development plans that ensure career progression for team members.Required Experience & Qualifications :
Minimum 7+ years of progressive, hands-on experience in managing and executing Travel Products or Holiday Packages in a managerial or leadership capacity.Proven track record in end-to-end product lifecycle management (planning, development, execution, and P&L oversight) within the Travel & Tourism industry.Demonstrable expertise in international supplier contracting and large-scale negotiation.Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and P&L statements to make tactical business decisions.Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills required to motivate sales teams and manage external stakeholder relationships(ref : iimjobs.com)
