Desktop Publishing Specialist (DTPS)

Job descriptionDocument Formatting & Layout : Design, format, and finalize assessments, reports, manuals, and other academic or business documents for both digital and print use. Template Management : Develop and maintain standardized templates to ensure brand consistency across all materials. Content Accuracy : Proofread and cross-check layouts to ensure accuracy in text, images, tables, and graphics. Graphic Handling : Insert, edit, and optimize images, icons, charts, and other visual elements for clarity and presentation. File Management : Prepare and export files in required formats (PDF, Word, PPT, etc.) with proper version control. Collaboration : Work with subject matter experts, designers, and product teams to deliver polished outputs within tight deadlines. Quality Assurance : Conduct pre-release checks to ensure all documents meet professional standards of typography, design, and formatting. Process Improvement : Suggest and implement improvements in formatting and publishing workflows. Experience : 2–4 years in desktop publishing, document design, or related roles. Technical Skills : Proficiency in DTP tools such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Attention to Detail : Strong eye for typography, spacing, alignment, and design consistency. Language Skills : Strong command of English for proofreading and error detection. Time Management : Ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet strict deadlines. Problem Solving : Ability to troubleshoot formatting issues and propose effective design solutions. Collaboration : Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Formatting and finalizing assessment papers and teacher guides. Designing professional layouts for presentations, reports, or handbooks. Reviewing documents for consistency, errors, and design quality. Preparing print-ready and digital-ready files for distribution. Coordinating with internal teams to adapt content into structured templates. Updating design templates or style guides for recurring projects. Senior DTP Specialist : Take ownership of larger publishing projects and mentor junior team members. Design & Publishing Lead : Oversee publishing workflows, manage brand consistency, and collaborate with the product team on UI / UX design.
