Role Details
This role will involve supporting individual students or small groups of students with a range of needs and / or supporting students within the classroom, under the direction of the classroom teacher or the leadership team.
The successful candidate will :
- Actively support and contribute to the Catholic ethos of Stella Maris Parish School and be willing to participate in all aspects of school life;
- Show a deep passion for supporting students to achieve their best and nurture a positive culture for wellbeing and inclusivity;
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work under the direction of and collaboratively with the Inclusive Education coordinator, teachers and other Support Officers to support successful learning outcomes;
- Have an ability to use initiative to engage children with their learning, while actively supporting their social, emotional and behavioural needs;
- Have excellent Literacy and Numeracy skills and knowledge and be confident to support students in these key learning areas. Prior training and experience in delivering evidence based literacy and / or numeracy intervention programs would be an advantage- but not essential.
- Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing development as a lifelong learner and a reflective practitioner.
The successful candidate will be expected to undergo all of our screening processes.
