Job Title : Chartered Accountant (CA) – Sugar Industry

Experience Required : 5+ years

Education : Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA), preferably with experience in the manufacturing or sugar industry

Job Summary :

We are seeking a highly competent and experienced Chartered Accountant (CA) to manage the financial operations of our sugar manufacturing unit. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, cost control, budgeting, taxation, audits, and compliance, ensuring the financial health and regulatory compliance of the organization.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Financial Reporting & Accounting

Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with statutory regulations (IND-AS / IFRS).

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Handle finalization of accounts and liaise with statutory auditors.

2. Costing & Budgeting

Implement and monitor cost accounting systems relevant to sugar production, molasses, ethanol, co-gen, etc.

Analyze variances in production costs, raw material consumption (like sugarcane), and overheads.

Prepare and monitor annual budgets and forecasts.

3. Taxation & Compliance

Ensure timely filing of GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other statutory returns.

Handle assessments, appeals, and notices from tax authorities.

Ensure compliance with Excise (if applicable), Companies Act, and other industry regulations.

4. Treasury & Fund Management

Manage working capital, cash flow, and banking operations.

Coordinate with banks for loans, LC, BG, and other instruments.

5. Audit & Internal Controls

Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accuracy.

Facilitate internal, statutory, and cost audits.

Develop SOPs for financial processes.

6. MIS & Decision Support

Provide timely MIS reports to management on key business metrics.

Support management in business decisions with financial insights.

Key Skills & Competencies :

In-depth knowledge of finance, accounting, and taxation in manufacturing / agri-based industries.

Experience in sugar industry operations, costing models (crushing, recovery %, by-products, etc.).

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / Tally).

Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Preferred Qualifications :

Prior experience in the Sugar Industry or allied sectors (Ethanol, Co-gen, Distillery).

Additional certifications in Cost Accounting or Financial Management .
