Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Mechanical Engineer (in the electronics / electrical industry) located in the Kolkata metropolitan area. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical parts—cabinets, enclosures, sub-assemblies, sheet metal and plastic parts, fasteners, etc.—for power electronics manufacturing using CAD software. Core competencies include :

Enclosure design

Thermal design for air- and water-cooled systems

Bus bar design

The role also involves overseeing the entire lifecycle of projects from conception to completion, liaising with supply chain stakeholders to innovate new solutions, and managing projects to ensure timely delivery and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• MINIMUM 8 years of experience in Mechanical Design & Development
• Core experience in design & development of mechanical enclosures of power electronics converters (drives, battery chargers, EV chargers) for transport applications
• Good understanding of sheet metal fabrication, die casting, machining, and finishing processes
• Strong knowledge of mechanical components used in electronics systems
• Experience in vendor development in the fabrication industry
• Good understanding of enclosure fabrication
• Experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software
• Strong Project Management skills
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
