Job Description
The Senior Architect has a direct reporting line to the Head of Architecture but is also accountable (dotted reporting line) to the Delivery Head & Lead (aka Matrix Manager) in the business / functional domain that is being served. The Senior Architect is expected to possess deep technical expertise, potential leadership qualities & be solution oriented with a core focus on contributing to build products that balance Functional Requirements, Customer / User Experience, Performance, Reliability, Resiliency & Security. This specific role will serve the Technology Platforms domain that is responsible for implementing and maintaining Tier Zero infrastructure (e.g. Networks, Compute, Data, Integration & Workplace Digitization). It requires doing both – Technical Solutions & Security keeping Cost Optimization in mind.
1. Domain Competencies :
1. Functional Domain - Strong experience in Must have participated and / or led at least 3 projects designing and architecting resilient, reliable & secure infrastructure
2. Develop and maintain architecture standards, guidelines, and best practices
3. Experience working with Agile Methodologies and in Agile teams, that incorporate - Agile Team concepts such as Tribes & Squads - Agile Ceremonies such as Quarterly Planning, Sprint Planning, Sprint Refinement & Sprint Retrospective - Agile Deliverables such as Features, Epics, Stories & Acceptance Criteria
4. Ensuring that all designs are created according to internal client development best practices and architectural patterns used by the client that cover Resiliency, Reliability & Security (RRS).
2. Technical Competencies :
1. 5+ years’ experience & knowledge of building endend designs (high level & low level) & solutions of infrastructure technologies including but not limited to Kubevirt on OpenShift, general virtualization & container (Kubernetes on OpenShift) technologies, Infrastructure Provisioning technologies like Terraform & Ansible, Linux based Operating Systems such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) , Oracle Linux Virtual Manager (OLVM) & Windows based technologies such as Windows Server & Active Directory
2. 3+ years of work experience in Cyber / Information Security and knowledge of how to bake security controls into designs, specifically virtualization technologies like Kubevirt
3. 3+ years’ Experience working with at least one cloud platform such as Azure, AWS or OCI
4. Deep knowledge and experience in proposing architectural design principles & patterns and justifying the benefits and drawbacks of each
5. Strong knowledge of cryptographic concepts and key management practices, including encryption standards, key lifecycle management, and secret management solutions.
6. Adequate knowledge & experience of baking cyber and information security controls into products via methods such as Data Classification, Regulatory Requirements considerations (e.g. PCI-DSS, UAE Central Bank, GDPR), Threat Modelling & Security Requirements (Govern, Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond, Recover)
7. Adequate knowledge of and experience in implementing cyber security controls such as Authentication, Authorization, Encryption Algorithms & Keys, Data Security, Security Events Logging & Alerting
8. Hands-on experience with Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions, demonstrating the ability to design and integrate secure identity frameworks across enterprise systems.
9. Intermediate understanding of networking concepts, including network segmentation, VLANs, routing, and zero-trust network design, to ensure secure and efficient system architecture
10. Some knowledge and experience of attacking and defending systems from a cyber security perspective
11. Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence concepts & technologies including but not limited to Machine Learning, Generative AI, Large Language Models, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), Embedding Models, Vector Databases, Model Context Protocol (MCP), AI Agents, Agentic AI, Git Hub Co-Pilot, Claude Code or similar
