Position : Deputy General Manager – Quality (Automotive OEM)
💰 CTC Range : Up to 45 lacs
🧠 Experience : 18 to 25 years (with strong exposure to Automotive OEM & Export Quality Systems)
Role Objective :
To lead the Quality Function across all manufacturing processes (Casting, Machining, Fabrication, Assembly, etc.) for an Automotive OEM setup , ensuring product and process quality, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement aligned with global standards.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Quality Leadership & Strategy
- Lead the end-to-end Quality Management function across plants and product lines.
- Develop and implement quality systems aligned with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and customer-specific requirements .
- Drive a customer-centric culture , ensuring quick response and effective resolution of customer concerns.
- Define and monitor KPIs for quality performance — rejection rate, PPM, audit scores, and customer satisfaction.
2. Customer Quality Management
Act as the primary interface for OEM and export customers on quality matters.Lead customer audits, APQP reviews, and warranty analysis.Implement robust systems to address customer complaints through root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action (CAPA) .3. Supplier Quality & Process Quality
Oversee Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) and ensure adherence to PPAP, FMEA, and control plan requirements.Audit and develop suppliers to meet export and OEM quality standards.Ensure in-process quality controls, line audits, and adherence to critical-to-quality (CTQ) parameters.4. Export Quality & Global Standards
Manage export customer quality systems and documentation as per global standards.Drive zero-defect initiatives and ensure compliance with international inspection norms.Support new product development for export customers — PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA, and validation.5. Continuous Improvement & Quality Tools
Champion the use of Six Sigma, Lean, and Quality Circle initiatives to drive improvement.Promote use of modern quality tools – APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, 8D, 5Why, Poka-Yoke, and Kaizen.Implement digital quality systems and advanced analytics for defect tracking and trend monitoring.6. Team Leadership & Development
Lead, coach, and develop a team of quality engineers, supervisors, and auditors.Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.Candidate Profile :
Qualification : B.E. / B.Tech – Mechanical / Industrial / Production EngineeringExperience : 15–20 years of quality management experience in an Automotive OEM or Tier-1 supplier environment.Strong exposure to export customers , quality audits, and global standards.Proven leadership in implementing latest quality tools, managing customer interactions, and driving plant-wide quality excellence.Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and team management skills.
