Summary & Overview of the Position
As Finance Director, you will have the opportunity to work across markets such as the US, the UK, Singapore, and India and will be responsible for all financial management aspects of the operations in these regions. In addition to the responsibilities of Company you will also be responsible for the other Group Companies.
This is a strategic role that comes with the responsibility of ensuring the financial aspect of the company is being integrated smoothly and successfully across geographies, in line with business goals. There will be close collaboration with the leadership team for strategy, business planning, accounting, and budgeting efforts of the company. If you are a self-starter, proactive, looks to take initiative, and can thrive in a young, entrepreneurial environment, this role will be most suited for you, as you develop and grow your expertise across different geographies.
Primary responsibilities include and are not restricted to the following :
Financial Strategy and Planning :
- Ownership and Strategy : Take a proactive role in shaping and aligning financial strategies with the overall business objectives.
- Collaborate with Profile & Loss (P&L) Owners and Sales teams : Keep track and report on Company and Individual P&L targets and gaps.
- Reporting : Prepare timely and detailed reports on financial performance on, Monthly, Quarterly and Annual basis.
- Forecasting and Planning : Integrate advanced forecasting techniques and scenario analysis into your planning process to provide a more nuanced understanding of potential future outcomes.
- Compliance : Responsible for compliance management and adhere to global financial laws and regulations. Regularly update stakeholders on changes in compliance requirements.
- Expenditure Control : Implement a cost-control mechanism by regularly reviewing expenditure trends and ensuring budget adherence. Leverage technology for real-time monitoring and alerts.
- Investment Evaluation : Develop a robust framework for evaluating investments, considering both short-term and long-term returns. Stay informed about market trends and emerging opportunities.
Global Finance Management and Accounting :
Risk Management : Develop and implement a robust risk management framework to address financial, operational, and compliance risks, ensuring comprehensive coverage.Audit and Internal Controls : Oversee audit and internal control operations, periodically reviewing and enhancing systems to adapt to changes in business operations and regulations.Monthly Closure : Streamline the monthly closure process by utilizing technology to automate routine tasks, allowing more time for in-depth analysis.Internal Control Evaluation : Periodically review and enhance internal control systems to ensure they adapt to changes in business operations and regulations.Financial Data Analysis : Leverage data analytics tools to gain deeper insights into financial data and recommend strategic changes based on these insights.Employee Benefit Plans : Regularly benchmark and optimize employee benefit plans to ensure competitiveness and cost-effectiveness.Legal Oversight : Collaborate closely with legal teams to stay ahead of any legal issues and proactively address potential challenges.Team and Partner Management :
Performance Management : Implement a continuous feedback mechanism for performance management, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.Skill Development : Establish a robust training program to keep the finance team abreast of evolving financial trends, technologies, and best practices.Relationship Management : Strengthen collaboration and communication between the finance team and other departments, emphasizing the importance of cross-functional teamwork.Leadership Development : Invest in leadership development programs to groom future finance leaders within the organization.Knowledge Sharing : Facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions and forums to foster a culture of learning and collaboration.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Educational Background :o BSc / BA in accounting, finance, or a relevant field; MBA in Finance is preferred.
o CPA or other relevant qualifications are considered advantageous.
Professional Experience :o 16 years to 18+ years of related experience in Financial and Fiscal Management, preferably within industries such as Multinational, IT, or Digital Marketing companies.
o Proven experience as a Finance Director or a similar leadership role.
Financial Acumen :o Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting.
o Proficiency in Financial and Management Accounting, with an added advantage of expertise in financial reporting automation.
Analytical and Strategic Thinking :o Possess an analytical mind with a strategic ability to interpret and leverage financial data for informed decision-making.
Leadership Skills :o Excellent organizational and leadership skills to guide and lead financial teams effectively.
Communication and Interpersonal Abilities :o Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, essential for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Technical Proficiency :o Excellent proficiency in Financial and Management Accounting.
o Hands-on experience with QuickBooks and Tally.
o Working knowledge of GAAP and IFRS.
Regulatory Compliance :o Familiarity with IFRS, IGAAP, and IND AS standards, along with expertise in managing subsidiaries.
Adaptability and Conflict Management :o Ability to adapt, multitask, set priorities, manage expectations, and take initiative.
o Good influencing, negotiating, and conflict management skills.
Expertise in Financial Strategy and Planning (ESOPs) :o Demonstrated ability to develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies aligned with organizational goals.
