Job Title : National Head – Employee Benefits (EB) Business
Location : Mumbai, India
Position Overview
The National Head of Employee Benefits (EB) Business will be responsible for conceptualizing, building, and leading the Employee Benefits vertical within the company. The incumbent will spearhead the national EB strategy, oversee business development, client servicing, and operations, and lead a high-performing team across regions.
The role demands deep domain expertise in GPA, GMC, GHI and GTL space, strong relationships with insurers and corporates, and a proven ability to scale business profitably.
Key Responsibilities-
Strategic Leadership
Develop and implement the business strategy for the Employee Benefits vertical, aligned with overall organizational goals.
Build the EB business from inception—defining structure, processes, product mix, and revenue goals.
Identify new business opportunities in the corporate insurance space and design innovative EB solutions for clients.
Drive synergies between retail and corporate businesses to enhance cross-sell and profitability.
Business Development & Client Management
Lead all-India business acquisition efforts for group health, life, accident, and wellness programs.
Build and nurture strategic relationships with corporates, brokers, insurers, and TPAs.
Oversee key account management to ensure client satisfaction and long-term retention.
Lead large RFPs, negotiations, and solution presentations for top corporate clients.
Team Leadership
Mentor a team of EB professionals across business development, client servicing, and operations.
Create performance-driven culture with clear goals, incentives, and ESOP-linked ownership mindset.
Promote collaboration, transparency, and continuous learning across the team.
Operations & Governance
Oversee policy placement, renewals, claims management, and data analytics to ensure seamless client experience.
Implement robust processes and technology to ensure compliance, accuracy, and efficiency.
Work closely with actuarial, underwriting, and technology teams to enhance service delivery.
Financial Management
Own the P&L for the EB vertical, driving revenue growth and cost optimization.
Set pricing, profitability targets, and financial projections.
Track and report business performance to senior leadership.
Required Experience & Skills
Professional Experience
20+ years of experience in the insurance industry, with at least 5 years in Employee Benefits / Group Insurance.
Proven track record of building and scaling EB or corporate insurance business lines.
Strong market relationships with insurers, brokers, and corporate HR / finance decision-makers.
Experience in team leadership, P&L ownership, and business transformation initiatives.
Technical & Functional Skills
In-depth understanding of Group Health, Group Life, and Group Accident products.
Familiarity with claims management, renewals, and wellness programs.
Strong business acumen, analytical ability, and financial planning skills.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
