Role Overview

The Test Engineers will be responsible for end-to-end validation and certification testing of Android TV Linux-based STBs and IPTV / OTT platforms.

This includes ownership of system integration testing feature validation Google certification (GCT / CTS / VTS) Netflix and other OTT app certifications and operator acceptance testing.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in embedded device testing deep knowledge of Android and Linux STB ecosystems and proven ability to lead a QA team define test strategies and coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure high-quality releases.

Key Responsibilities

Perform end-to-end testing of Android-based STBs with :

o OTT applications (e.g. Netflix Amazon Prime)

o Live TV streaming

o DVB-C / T / S channels using Dektec Player

Execute various types of testing :

o Functional

o Performance

o Stability

o MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) for external testing setups

Prepare and support certification processes such as :

o GCT Certification

o Netflix Certification

o Amazon Certification

Analyze issues using debugging tools and logs :

o ADB (Android Debug Bridge)

o Bugreport analysis

o Log tracing and issue reproduction

Work closely with development QA and product teams to identify isolate and report defects effectively.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing strategies and automation where applicable.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

Hands-on experience in Android STB testing

Strong understanding of DVB-C / T / S channel testing with tools like Dektec Player

Experience in OTT application testing on STBs

Good knowledge of STB test methodologies including Functional Performance Stability and MTBF testing

Familiarity with GCT Netflix and Amazon certification processes

Proficient in using ADB collecting bugreports and log analysis

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to trace / debug complex issues

Good communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams
