10xConstruction is redefining how humanity builds — through the power of Robotics and AI. Our autonomous robots enhance construction productivity, safety, and precision, while setting a new benchmark for reliability and ease of use. Designed to endure and engineered to inspire, our systems combine industrial strength with elegance and intelligence.
We are seeking an Industrial Designer Intern to shape the physical identity of our autonomous construction robots. You’ll work at the intersection of engineering, aesthetics, and usability — translating complex hardware systems into beautifully functional, durable, and serviceable machines.
Your work will define how our robots look, feel, and operate on the job site — ensuring that form, material, and ergonomics reflect the intelligence and reliability of what we’re building. These are broad responsibilities :
- Lead industrial design development for next-generation robotic systems, from early sketches to production-ready surfaces.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are both visually refined and mechanically feasible.
- Develop modular enclosure systems and accessibility features (easy tool swaps, maintenance access, component protection).
- Design for durability, repairability, and manufacturability using practical materials and industrial processes.
- Own the visual design language of 10x robots — proportions, textures, color palettes, finishes, and branding placement.
- Create high-quality renders , mockups, and physical prototypes for design reviews and investor / demo presentations.
- Work closely with the marketing and motion teams to ensure visual coherence between physical design and digital storytelling.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or related field .2–5 years of experience designing hardware products — preferably in robotics, mobility, consumer electronics, or industrial equipment.Strong proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Rhino, Fusion 360) and rendering tools ( KeyShot, Blender, or Unreal Engine ).Experience with DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and understanding of materials such as aluminum, composites, polymers, and coated steels.Portfolio showcasing real-world prototypes or production designs that balance engineering practicality with strong aesthetic clarity.Knowledge of ergonomics, human-machine interaction , and environmental durability (IP-rated enclosures, dust / water protection).Strong communication and collaboration skills — ability to bridge engineering and design.Benefits
Ownership of the end-to-end design language for a first-of-its-kind general-purpose construction robot.Opportunity to build a design identity that will define a new category — autonomous robots in construction.Hands-on experience shaping the visual storytelling of one of the most ambitious robotics companies in the world.Opportunity to work directly with founders.
