About the Role :
The Principal Loan Closer will play a critical role in managing and executing primary and secondary syndicated loan trades, ensuring seamless and accurate settlements in accordance with market standards. This position demands deep expertise in Loan Syndication, Trade Settlement, and Loan IQ operations, along with the ability to analyze, reconcile, and manage complex financial transactions in a fast-paced environment.
The role requires collaboration with internal and external stakeholders globally to maintain service excellence and ensure compliance with performance benchmarks.
Key Responsibilities :
Loan Operations & Settlement
- Execute and settle primary and secondary syndicated loan trades in LoanIQ through the detailed review of ClearPar funding memos.
- Process end-to-end loan-related activities such as drawdowns, borrowings, rollovers, conversions, and interest / fee payments.
- Review and validate trade economics in ClearPar, ensuring all trade data is accurate and up to date.
- Process loan lifecycle events related to trade settlement, ensuring adherence to all internal controls and market standards.
- Verify and manage all Standard Settlement Instructions (SSIs) before trade settlement.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve cash breaks, trade discrepancies, and reconciliation issues on a timely basis.
Stakeholder Management
Partner with external stakeholders including agents, lenders, borrowers, and counterparties to ensure smooth communication and issue resolution.Collaborate with internal teams such as Operations, Treasury, Compliance, and Client Services to enhance workflow efficiency and maintain control standards.Maintain positive client relationships by delivering exceptional service and ensuring all settlement queries are resolved promptly.Process Excellence & Compliance
Maintain strong operational controls and ensure full compliance with organizational standards and regulatory guidelines.Ensure 100% adherence to all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and Employee Satisfaction Indexes (ESIs).Participate in and contribute to projects and working groups aimed at process improvement, automation, and operational efficiency.Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing valuable feedback and innovative ideas to optimize trade settlement processes.Data Management & Reporting
Analyze large volumes of transaction data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.Prepare and maintain accurate operational and reconciliation reports for management review.Track and monitor performance metrics, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance standards.Key Requirements :
Education : Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience : Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in loan closing, syndicated loan operations, or trade settlement within a banking, financial services, or consulting environment.
Technical Strong expertise in Loan Syndication and Trade Settlement processes.
Proficiency in LoanIQ platform.In-depth understanding of LSTA and LMA market Familiarity with ClearPar, SyndTrak, Debt Domain, and other settlement systems.Strong knowledge of wire transfer mechanisms such as FED, CHIPS, and SWIFT.Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook for operational and reporting tasks.Analytical & Soft Skills :
