• Problem Formulation : Work closely with management and stakeholders to define and understand complex business problems or decision-making challenges
• Translate real-world problems into mathematical models that can be analyzed and solved
• Data Analysis and Modeling : Collect and analyze relevant data using statistical and mathematical techniques
• Develop mathematical models, simulations, or optimization algorithms to represent and solve the identified problems
• Optimization and Decision Support : Apply optimization techniques to find the best possible solutions to business problems, considering constraints and objectives
• Provide decision support by presenting insights, recommendations, and potential scenarios to decision-makers
• Simulation and Forecasting : Use simulation models to analyze and forecast outcomes under different conditions or scenarios
• Evaluate the impact of changes or decisions on operational efficiency, resource allocation, and overall performance
• Implementation of Solutions : Collaborate with various departments to implement solutions and recommendations derived from analysis
• Monitor and assess the effectiveness of implemented changes
• Continuous Improvement : Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization within the organization
• Stay informed about advancements in operations research methodologies and tools
• Skills and Qualifications : Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including proficiency in mathematical modeling and statistical analysis
• Knowledge of operations research methodologies, optimization techniques, and simulation
• Proficiency in programming languages (e g, Python, R, MATLAB) and optimization software
• Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
• Effective communication skills to convey complex analytical findings to non-technical stakeholders
• Project management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
