Semtech - Staff Engineer - Cloud Services

About the Role :

We are seeking an experienced Staff Engineer Cloud DevOps to lead and optimize the delivery of secure, scalable, and resilient cloud services. This role is responsible for ensuring system performance, security, capacity optimization, and operational excellence across cloud environments.

The ideal candidate will combine hands-on technical expertise in cloud operations with strong collaboration, problem-solving, and leadership skills to maintain enterprise-class services and support business-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities :

• Ensure exceptional delivery of cloud services by maintaining optimal performance, availability, and security.
• Manage daily cloud operations, including monitoring, incident response, and remediation activities.
• Implement cloud capacity allocation, performance tuning, and cost optimization strategies.
• Oversee platform deployments, updates, and patching cycles to ensure system stability.
• Develop and enforce change management, documentation, and reporting standards.
• Collaborate closely with development, security, and customer support teams to deliver seamless services.
• Lead initiatives around incident response, risk mitigation, and proactive monitoring.
• Drive process improvements to strengthen cloud governance, operational efficiency, and Qualifications :
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent field.
• 5+ years of experience in an Engineering, Cloud Operations, or Technical Support role (customer-facing preferred).
• Proven expertise in managing and deploying cloud-based technologies (AWS preferred).
• Strong hands-on experience with cloud virtualization services : S3, RDS, EC2, etc.
• Advanced knowledge of Linux / Unix administration and OSS systems.
• Demonstrated experience in cloud administration, automation, and security Qualifications :
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Proficiency in security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS Benchmarks.
• Industry-recognized certifications are a plus :

1. AWS Certified Solutions Architect

2. AWS Certified SysOps Administrator

3. CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)

4. CEH (Certified Ethical & Competencies :
