Micro Plastics - Manager - New Product Development

Purpose :

To lead and manage the development of new PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) products from concept to mass production, ensuring design for manufacturability, quality, cost, and delivery timelines are met. The role involves cross-functional collaboration with design, procurement, quality, and manufacturing teams.

Duties and responsibilities :

• Lead the end-to-end NPD process for PCBAs, including feasibility, prototyping, validation, and transition to mass production.
• Coordinate with sourcing and procurement teams for component selection and vendor management.
• Drive prototype builds and ensures timely delivery of engineering samples.
• Collaborate with production and process engineering teams to develop efficient assembly processes for new products.
• Define and manage project timelines, risks, and mitigation plans.
• Conduct DFMEA, PFMEA and support APQP, PPAP documentation for NPD projects.
• Ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
• Continuously optimize NPD processes for faster and cost-effective launches.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers in the Bachelor's or master's degree in Electronics / Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience in PCBA development, preferably in EMS or electronics manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of SMT, THT, PCB design tools, and IPC standards.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and related quality systems.
• Excellent project management and communication skills.
• Ability to manage cross-functional teams and interface with global Experience with automotive or high-reliability electronics.
• Knowledge of ERP systems and PLM tools.
• Six Sigma / Lean Manufacturing exposure is an advantage.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.

Experience

Minimum of 8-12 years in PCBA development and NPD in Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) / Consumer Electronics / Automotive Electronics based industry.
