Key Responsibilities :
Migration Execution :
- Validate system readiness using Maintenance Planner and generate stack files.
- Manage SAP media required for ECC to SoH migration.
- Execute SUM DMO with System Move for large DB2-based ECC systems targeting AWS-hosted HANA.
- Conduct DMO dry runs, optimize migration parameters, and plan downtime.
- Troubleshoot SUM DMO errors using logs and kernel-level diagnostics.
- Collaborate with AWS teams for EC2 sizing, EBS provisioning, and network setup.
Database & Platform Expertise :
Provide DB2 expertise for source system analysis, export tuning, and performance validation.Administer HANA DB on AWS, including memory sizing, persistence layer tuning, and lifecycle operations.Configure HANA System Replication (HSR) for database layer high availability.Implement ACSC / ERS for SAP application layer HA and AWS-native HA components.Post-Migration Stabilization :
Validate system health post-cutover using EarlyWatch, SICK, and DBACOCKPIT.Document migration steps, rollback plans, and lessons learned.Support post-go-live performance tuning and interface validation (RFCs, IDocs, Web Services).Mandatory Skills & Experience :
10+ years of SAP BASIS experience, with 2+ full-cycle ECC to SoH migrations.Hands-on experience with SUM DMO (System Move) and HANA DB administration.Strong knowledge of DB2 database (export / import, monitoring, backup strategies).Experience deploying SAP workloads on AWS Cloud (EC2, EBS, VPC).Ability to configure HSR and ACSC / ERS for high availability.Proficiency with SAP sizing tools, stack updates, and kernel patching.Strong troubleshooting skills across OS, DB, and SAP layers.Excellent communication and documentation skills.Good-to-Have Skills :
SAP Certified Technology Associate SAP HANA or BASIS.AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate or higher.Experience with SAP Solution Manager for monitoring and change control.Exposure to hybrid landscapes (on-premise to cloud migrations).Knowledge of AWS-native HA components like ELB and Auto Recovery.(ref : hirist.tech)
