Senior Software Engineer (Mac / iOS)

Job descriptionMinimum 5-7 years of professional software development experience is required, including at least 3 years of experience in 2 or more of the following : Experience in macOS Swift development Experience with creating macOS system extensions Experience with iOS app development Knowledge of macOS network stack and operations Experience with owning and maintaining large software components Experience providing technical leadership to more junior developers Experience with source control flow through Git or other distributed version control systems Familiarity with issue and project tracking software such as Jira Knowledge of security best practices for desktop and mobile development on Apple platforms Exposure to backend technologies and concepts Experience in C / C++ / Rust coding Networking experience, in particular on Apple platforms Experience with working as part of a regionally distributed team Open source contributor Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field of study specific focus on iOS (with Apple TV as a nice-to-have) Comprehensive health and life insurance on your 16th day of employment, covering 1 free dependent on the 16th day of employment Flexible leave credits which may be used for vacation, emergency and sick leaves Quarterly perks boxes for WFH staff, offering groceries and snacks to keep you fueled Superb and exciting Mid-Year Parties – with items to give away and cash prizes! You will :
- Take part in developing our VPN's Apple clients on the iOS, macOS, and tvOS platforms.
- Be a part of a team working to bring a more private internet to users of Apple's platforms.
- Maintain and extend network extensions with new functionality, mastering the network stack to evade censorship and develop exciting new features that give users more control over their data.
- Develop UIs that seamlessly engage a wide range of users, from layperson to technical, and give confidence that their online privacy is in good hands.
- Help to develop tooling that reflects the state of the art in building and testing software to improve the team's productivity and software delivery cadence.
- Work with your fellow developers in daily tasks to properly deliver large software projects starting from basic principles to thinking critically about dividing problems into iterations of simple, composable solutions.
- Constantly re-evaluate the minimum scope to meet objectives on time.
