- Responsible for overall maintenance of the local ledgers for statutory and Group-IFRS reporting
- Overall responsibility for the production, review and challenge of the UK GAAP statutory financial statements, ensuring completeness and accuracy of the ledger and compliance with reporting requirements.
- Overall responsibility for the high quality production and review of the entities' IFRS results for inclusion in Group-IFRS reporting, including review of business inputs, eliminations and adjustments.
- Ownership of the eliminations process for re-charges
- Production and review of monthly income statement and balance sheet for each entity
- Analytical review of the financial Statements and ledger reconciliations.
- Oversee Group reporting under IFRS and review associated workbooks prior to submission to M&G plc Group Head Office using Tagetik, ensuring all reporting and disclosure requirements are met.
- Join the local finance leadership community, providing the support, guidance and leadership required to enable the team to fulfil their roles and to continue to develop and grow along with the business.
- Exercise sound judgement and evaluate various potential solutions to reporting questions considering the implications on accounting and reporting requirements.
- Lead relationship with Auditors and Group Finance, leading on coordination, planning, answering queries and providing information. Demonstrate influence in these interactions.
- Review of board packs and dashboards for Operational and Executive Committees.
- Lead the resolution of technical accounting matters, making sound and informed judgements
- Ensuring accurate MI reporting and analysis, to provide crucial insights for strategic business decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with current accounting standards (UK GAAP, IFRS), and Group Head Office procedures to maintain a robust financial control regime.
- Support the implementation of new accounting standards and contribute to the delivery of other finance change projects supporting programmes with detailed accounting requirements and impact analysis.
- Evaluate and enhance processes and procedures to accommodate business changes.
- Support continuous improvement through regular and customised analyses.
- Strategically plan and allocate tasks to meet deadlines.
- Maintain effective working relationships with other teams across M&G Finance, ensuring that Group reporting needs are communicated, understood and met.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, taking personal responsibility to drive any enhancements to controls to support improvement of the overall control environment.
- Keep up to date with the latest accounting and business developments.
- Ad hoc tasks and participation in ad hoc projects
