Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership of CGC
- Lead and manage the Career Guidance Centre at the school level.
- Design a comprehensive career and college counselling roadmap aligned with IB philosophy (ATL skills, learner profile, holistic development).
- Plan and execute annual CGC calendar covering assessments, workshops, fairs, university visits, and parent engagements.
2. Student & Parent Engagement
Introduce the CGC programme to students and parents beginning Grade IX;conduct regular touchpoints.
Conduct structured one-on-one counselling sessions to understand student interests, strengths, personality profile, subject choices, and career aspirations.Support students in clarifying pathways—Indian and international universities, vocational options, portfolio courses, competitive exams, etc.Provide guidance on subject selections for IB DP keeping future pathways in mind.3. Assessments & Data Management
Administer and interpret career / psychometric assessments (Aptitude, Interest, Personality, Career Fit).Maintain accurate and updated student records on Naviance (or relevant platform).Review and validate monthly MIS reports for internal leadership and Core Office.Ensure every Grade XI & XII student completes :Mock SOPRésumé building and personal profile documentation4. Exposure, Engagement & Partnerships
Organize and oversee CGC-led events :“Walk the Talk” sessionsUniversity visits and virtual sessionsCareer fairsAlumni interactionsSkill-building workshopsLiaise with industry experts, universities, and external counsellors to bring meaningful exposure to students.Build and sustain partnerships with Indian and international higher-education institutions.5. Internships & Skill-Building
Ensure summer internship opportunities for all Grade XI students.Expand collaboration with organizations that can offer projects, mentoring, job-shadowing, or experiential learning.6. Faculty Collaboration
Work closely with teachers and Coordinators to :Observe students throughout the year and document insights.Support subject selection and academic planning.Integrate career conversations into classroom practices (ATL, CAS, EE support where applicable).7. Professional Development & Compliance
Stay updated on global trends in admissions, scholarships, standardized tests, and work-readiness skills.Attend national and international counsellor forums, fairs, and workshops.Ensure compliance with all school policies, safeguarding protocols, and IB expectations.
