Job Summary :
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated engineer to lead the development and virtualization of sensor and actuator models for use in simulation environments such as VHiL, HiL, SiL, and CoSim. This role involves deep collaboration across hardware, controls, diagnostics, and supplier teams to ensure robust, scalable, and accurate modeling of devices used in modern automotive systems.
Key Responsibilities :
Modeling & Simulation
Develop high-fidelity plant models of sensors and actuators using
Simulink
or equivalent tools.
Architect models for seamless integration into
VHiL, HiL, SiL, and CoSim
environments.
Define and maintain interface standards for model consumption across simulation platforms.
Data Acquisition & Characterization
Lead data collection efforts from physical devices to support model validation and performance characterization.
Analyze diagnostic responses and performance metrics to refine model behavior.
Testing & Validation
Define and execute test cases based on customer feedback and evolving model requirements.
Ensure model robustness by incorporating vehicle calibration variations and real-world operating conditions.
Change & Release Management
Manage model lifecycle including enhancements, release documentation, test coverage, and technical support.
Maintain traceability and version control across model updates.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Coordinate with suppliers, hardware, controls, and diagnostics teams to gather and align requirements.
Balance short-term and long-term modeling fidelity needs between in-house and supplier-based solutions.
Harmonize virtualization requirements across vehicle and propulsion domains.
Requirements Definition
Define virtualization requirements for modeling, hardware, controls, and supplier ecosystems.
Translate calibration differences into robust model design strategies.
Required Qualifications :
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
5+ years of experience in model-based development, preferably in the automotive domain.
Proficiency in
Simulink ,
MATLAB , and other modeling tools.
Strong understanding of electrical schematics, control systems, and diagnostics.
Experience with
HiL / SiL / CoSim
environments and simulation workflows.
Familiarity with data acquisition systems and sensor / actuator hardware.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Skills : Experience with
vehicle calibration
and its impact on model fidelity.
Exposure to
AUTOSAR ,
CAN ,
LIN , or other automotive communication protocols.
Knowledge of
change management tools
(e.g., JIRA, Git, SVN).
Ability to work across global teams and manage supplier interactions.
