Air pollution takes more than 7 Million lives globally every single year. Over 5% of premature children death occur due to air pollution in developing countries. Everyone has relied on governments or experts to solve the problem, but most solutions up until today have either been too expensive or too ineffective. Praan is an attempt at making the future cleaner, healthier, and safer for the generations to come.

Job Description

Lead the complete development lifecycle of embedded products from concept to manufacturing, ensuring seamless integration of hardware and firmware components

Write code and develop firmware from scratch as necessary to meet project requirements, ensuring optimal performance and functionality

Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to ensure cohesive hardware design and firmware integration

Design, simulate, manufacture, test, and debug custom electronic hardware boards and sensor-based systems built on the ARM platform

Design and implement application frameworks and system services for new embedded platforms

Design and develop test systems for validating the platform, including both hardware and firmware aspects

Develop and maintain Cellular / WiFi systems with MQTT broking for robust communication

Enforce high standards of quality over the code base and application performance, conducting stress testing and designing firmware edge cases

Collaborate with mechanical design, simulation, software, and product design teams for electronic hardware and harness integration

Engage with the business team for product feature changes and B2B customer teams globally to ensure product alignment with market needs

Ensure designs meet EMI / EMC compliance and perform life cycle assessments for embedded hardware

Coordinate with the supply chain team and vendors for sourcing raw materials, optimizing material costs, and ensuring timely delivery

Work alongside third-party validation companies, such as UL and LEEDS, to achieve commercial certification for our products

Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for core technologies, embedded hardware, and electrical engineering teams

Partner with program manager and company leadership on key product deliverables and timelines

Work on the selection, design, testing, integration, and maintenance of electrochemical and mechanical sensor-based systems with IoT platforms, ensuring robust and scalable product solutions

Mentor and lead a team of interns, fostering a collaborative and innovative development

environment

Comprehensively document all code and engineering files and decisions allowing current

and future scalability of the team

Skill Requirements

Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Electronics / Electrical Engineering.

4+ years of work experience in Embedded Systems and Hardware Design.

Exceptional experience in circuit design, encompassing Analog and Digital Circuits.

Proficiency in simulation, PCB design, manufacturing, and testing for embedded hardware.

Exceptional hands-on skills with testing equipment such as Multimeters, Scopes, DCAs, Logic Analyzers, and Spectrum Analyzers.

Exceptional hands on skills in circuit assembly : Through hole and SMD.

Past experience working with and integrating expensive, high resolution sensors.

Past experience manufacturing and shipping embedded hardware product.

Past experience working with antenna and GSM based IoT Devices.

Work experience involving high voltage power circuits and power electronics.

Strong fundamentals and programming experience in C / C++ for embedded hardware.

Proven ability in debugging and fault finding within embedded systems.

Familiarity with FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) and DFMEA (Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis).

Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate within a team.
