We are seeking a skilled COBOL Developer with hands-on experience in MicroFocus Enterprise Server to join our long term care insurance systems team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting, debugging, and modifying COBOL code that powers our third-party administrative platform. This role will be heavily involved in system modifications to support data conversions and the onboarding of closed block long term care insurance clients.
Experience with Eclipse IDE for mainframe development and strong debugging, compilation, and integration testing skills are essential. Insurance industry knowledge - particularly in Long Term Care insurance claims - is highly desirable. Familiarity with Java is a plus but not required.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop, maintain, and debug COBOL programs running on MicroFocus Enterprise Server.
- Use Eclipse IDE for coding, compiling, and version management of mainframe programs.
- Perform advanced debugging and integration testing to ensure code quality and system reliability.
- Support system modifications required during client closed block data conversions.
- Collaborate with business analysts, conversion teams, and QA to identify and resolve issues.
- Document technical specifications, test results, and system changes.
- Participate in production support, including troubleshooting and issue resolution for existing systems.
