SGX is looking for a finance professional based in India to provide finance support for our India office.
This is an exciting role for a professional seeking to learn about the financial industry and to work in a dynamic organisation. This role is critical to strengthening our regulatory compliance and operational efficiency in India. The resource will support the maintenance of books and accounts, statutory filings, and coordination with external auditors, tax consultants and regulators.
Key Accountabilities
Reporting to the CEO in our India office, you will be responsible for the full spectrum of finance support for the SGX India office, particularly in tax and accounting.
Financial reporting
- Maintain books and accounts locally in compliance with the Indian GAAP. This includes attending to all finance and tax-related documentation and record-keeping.
- Liaison person for statutory audit, local regulatory reporting and tax coordination with advisors and internal teams.
- Work closely with Singapore Finance team on the legal entity cost sharing monthly exercise, including intercompany settlement.
Tax Compliance and management
Drive full spectrum of compliance with Indian tax requirements through continuous monitoring and assessment for SGX India. This includes preparing / reviewing SEZ and tax returns (including TDS, GST, Form 15CA / CB / CD, etc), attending to tax queries and liaising with tax authorities to ensure up-to-date tax status. You will work closely with the Singapore tax team and tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate submission of tax related regulatory and compliance work.Assist and attend to Indian transfer pricing matters and tax audits.Finance & Clearing Operations and Office Administration
Assist in the accurate and timely processing of billings and collections, invoices and payments, including adherence with relevant company policies, controls and tax / regulatory requirements. This includes attending to enquiries on related matters.Support bank administration matters, including liaison with local bank counterparties.Assist in daily reconciliation of positions and margins between SGX ICI and Clearing Corporation.Assist in Office administration & Facilities Management matters.Required Qualifications
Degree in Accounting or Finance or related field with at least 3-5 years' experience in managing finance / tax within commercial and / or Big 4 / consulting industry.Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, taxation, and regulatory requirements relevant to the capital markets.Strong communication and effective interpersonal skills, and curiosity to learn and question are attributes that we look for. As the environment is fast paced, you should be someone who enjoys challenges at work, is self-motivated and able to work independently.Prior experience in Indian statutory compliance and audit coordination will be preferred.
