Key Chemical Engineer Role
This position focuses on the development and implementation of chemical processes. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of materials science, manufacturing systems, and chemical processes.
We are seeking a highly skilled individual to work closely with our multidisciplinary teams. This role requires excellent communication skills, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Job Responsibilities :
- Design and develop chemical processes for the production of chemicals, fuels, pharmaceuticals, food products, or materials
- Conduct material and energy balances, process simulations, and flow diagrams (PFDs) for chemical plants or production systems
- Optimize chemical processes to improve yields, reduce costs, and increase energy efficiency while ensuring environmental sustainability
- Scale up laboratory processes to pilot and industrial scales, ensuring smooth transitions from R&D to full production
- Develop and implement process control strategies to maintain desired product quality and consistency
- Work with automation and control systems (e.g., PLC, SCADA) to optimize process parameters and improve plant performance
- Monitor and analyze process data to troubleshoot and improve process performance, ensuring systems run efficiently and within safety parameters
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA, ISO 9001)
- Perform risk assessments (e.g., HAZOP) and implement safety measures to reduce hazards in chemical processes
- Maintain proper documentation for compliance with regulatory bodies and ensure safe handling and disposal of chemicals
- Collaborate with product development teams to design and improve products incorporating chemical processes that meet customer requirements
- Research and develop new chemical processes or products, staying current with industry trends and technological advancements
- Perform laboratory tests and experiments to validate new process designs and materials
- Ensure that all products meet established quality standards and specifications
- Develop and implement testing protocols to evaluate raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products
- Monitor production quality and troubleshoot deviations from standards, recommending corrective actions when necessary
- Lead or support chemical engineering projects from concept through to completion, managing timelines, budgets, and resources
- Prepare project documentation, reports, and presentations to update management and clients on progress, risks, and results
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (e.g., mechanical, electrical, and civil engineers) to ensure timely and successful project delivery
