Job description

Job Title : Assistant Professor - Foundation

Education Background :

Postgraduate degree in Design & Technology or a related discipline.
Additional qualifications in multi-disciplinary design will be an advantage.

Industry Experience Required :

Minimum 8–10 years of professional experience in multi-disciplinary design roles.

Strong exposure to applied industry practices and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities (KRAs) :

Design and teach subjects / modules / courses, including preparation and regular revision of course materials (syllabi, assignments, handouts, and teaching aids).

Conduct and supervise tutorials, workshops, practical sessions, and lab work.

Design and administer assessment briefs; evaluate student work and provide timely, constructive formative and summative feedback.

Facilitate and encourage student engagement on online and face-to-face learning platforms.

Identify and integrate industry connections, case studies, and guest interactions within the curriculum.

Drive student achievement and engagement through participation in events, exhibitions, competitions (national / international), and industry projects.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of academic quality standards and align with institutional policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Competencies :

Strong knowledge and appreciation of multicultural and global design perspectives relevant to 21st-century creative practice.

Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with individuals and groups.

Proficiency in delivering content through both in-person and digital platforms.

Commitment to academic quality assurance, enhancement, and continuous improvement.

Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining a constructive and solutions-oriented approach.

Passion for mentorship and student success, with a genuine willingness to support students in achieving their full potential.
