Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer – SME

We are seeking an

experienced Ruby on Rails SME

to lead design, development, and quality for key modules of our platform. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with deep technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for mentoring and driving excellence in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Roles & Responsibilities

Act as

SME (Subject Matter Expert)

in at least one functional module of the system or service.

Own the

design and quality

of services / modules under your SME area.

Maintain a

say / do ratio of >

95%

in execution.

Perform

code reviews

and act as the

quality gatekeeper

for your SME module.

Assist, mentor, and guide junior team members.

Enforce

code review and test coverage standards

to ensure high-quality releases.

Ensure

no regressions

in owned modules.

Serve on

interview panels

to help grow the engineering team and organization.

Must-Have Skills

8+ years

of overall software engineering experience.

3+ years

of hands-on experience with

Ruby on Rails .

Strong understanding of

front-end technologies

such as

JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3 .

Solid experience with

web services

and

RESTful APIs .

Good understanding of

JavaScript dependency management

and build tools.

Experience with databases like

MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL .

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work

independently

and in a

collaborative team .

Proficiency with

Git / GitHub

for version control.

Ability to thrive in a

fast-paced, creative atmosphere

and adapt to evolving user needs.
