Job description

We are looking for a highly experienced Ruby on Rails Architect to join us on a contractual basis.

The role involves actively contributing to ongoing projects, providing technical and architectural leadership, and conducting technical interviews to support our hiring process.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Ruby on Rails backend development, frontend technologies (React / Angular / Vue), and system design, along with experience in mentoring and evaluating engineers.

Key Responsibilities :

Project Delivery :

  • Architect, design, and implement scalable, secure, and high-performing applications using Ruby on Rails.
  • Collaborate with product, backend, and frontend teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
  • Develop and optimize APIs (REST / GraphQL), database schemas, and background processing Provide guidance on frontend integration with modern frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue) to deliver seamless user experiences.
  • Ensure best practices in performance optimization, security, CI / CD integration, and cloud deployments Review code, troubleshoot issues, and provide mentorship to developers.

Interview & Evaluation :

  • Conduct technical interviews for mid-to-senior-level candidates across Ruby on Rails and frontend development.
  • Evaluate candidates skills in RoR architecture, problem-solving, and frontend integration.
  • Create and refine coding tests, case studies, and interview processes.
  • Provide structured feedback and recommendations to support final hiring decisions.

    • Required Skills & Qualifications :

  • 10+ years of software development experience with 5+ years in Ruby on Rails architecture and system design.
  • Strong knowledge of RoR MVC, ActiveRecord, caching strategies, background jobs Proficiency in frontend technologies : React.js, Angular, or Vue.js, along with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+).
  • Expertise in databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis) and query optimization.
  • Experience in API design, integration, and frontend-backend collaboration.
  • Hands-on knowledge of CI / CD, Docker / Kubernetes, and cloud platforms Proven experience in conducting technical interviews, leading teams, or mentoring engineers.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

    • Nice to Have :

  • Exposure to microservices architecture and large-scale SaaS platforms.
  • Contributions to open-source RoR or frontend projects.
  • Knowledge of GraphQL, WebSockets, and real-time applications.
