About the Role :
The Division of Surgery at NCH is responsible for delivering inpatient and outpatients surgical services and includes Surgical Bookings, Pre-Admission Clinic, Anaesthesia, Pain Management Unit, Perioperative Suite, Post-Anaesthetic Care Unit, Day Surgery Unit, Admissions, Endoscopy, Specialist Outpatient Clinics and surgical ward areas.
The Specialist Outpatients Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for assisting Medical and Surgical staff as well as allied health and specialty nurses with consultations and minor procedures, completing assessments, formulating care plans and completing referrals to other health care providers. The RN will be required to collaborate with the multidisciplinary team and provide support, guidance and education to patients and their families to deliver high-quality care.
The Outpatient Department at North Canberra Hospital incorporates the specialties of General Surgery, Gynaecology, ENT, Orthopaedics, Vascular, Lymphedema, Cardiology, General Medicine, Neurology, Renal, Endocrinology, as well as Diabetes Education, Breast Cancer Nurses and Women’s Health Physiotherapy.
