Biomedical Technician

Equipment Maintenance and Calibration :

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) inspections on medical equipment according to manufacturer specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Calibrate and adjust equipment settings to ensure accurate and reliable performance, documenting all maintenance activities and findings.
• Troubleshooting and Repairs :
• Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions, faults, and performance issues in biomedical equipment, utilizing technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
• Repair or replace defective components, parts, or modules to restore equipment functionality and safety.
• Safety Inspections and Compliance :
• Conduct safety inspections and electrical safety tests (ESI) on medical equipment to ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, AAMI, ECRI).
• Identify and address potential safety hazards, electrical faults, and mechanical failures to mitigate risks to patients and healthcare staff.
• Inventory Management and Documentation :
• Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory, including asset information, maintenance history, and service contracts.
• Order replacement parts, supplies, and consumables as needed, ensuring adequate stock levels and timely replenishment.
• User Training and Support :
• Provide training and technical support to clinical staff on the proper use, operation, and maintenance of medical equipment.
• Educate end-users on equipment features, functionalities, and troubleshooting procedures to enhance user proficiency and equipment utilization.
• Emergency Response and Service Calls :
• Respond promptly to service calls and equipment alarms, prioritizing urgent issues and minimizing equipment downtime.
• Coordinate with clinical staff, biomedical engineers, and external service providers to address emergency repairs and critical equipment failures.
