Equipment Maintenance and Calibration :
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) inspections on medical equipment according to manufacturer specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Calibrate and adjust equipment settings to ensure accurate and reliable performance, documenting all maintenance activities and findings.
- Troubleshooting and Repairs :
- Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions, faults, and performance issues in biomedical equipment, utilizing technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
- Repair or replace defective components, parts, or modules to restore equipment functionality and safety.
- Safety Inspections and Compliance :
- Conduct safety inspections and electrical safety tests (ESI) on medical equipment to ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, AAMI, ECRI).
- Identify and address potential safety hazards, electrical faults, and mechanical failures to mitigate risks to patients and healthcare staff.
- Inventory Management and Documentation :
- Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory, including asset information, maintenance history, and service contracts.
- Order replacement parts, supplies, and consumables as needed, ensuring adequate stock levels and timely replenishment.
- User Training and Support :
- Provide training and technical support to clinical staff on the proper use, operation, and maintenance of medical equipment.
- Educate end-users on equipment features, functionalities, and troubleshooting procedures to enhance user proficiency and equipment utilization.
- Emergency Response and Service Calls :
- Respond promptly to service calls and equipment alarms, prioritizing urgent issues and minimizing equipment downtime.
- Coordinate with clinical staff, biomedical engineers, and external service providers to address emergency repairs and critical equipment failures.
