Job Overview
TE Connectivity’s Engineering Project Management Teams manage cross functional engineering projects. They work with Product Management, Sales, Quality, Manufacturing, Finance, and other functions across TE to assure projects meet financial, schedule and customer expectations. As a PjM I, you'll oversee sensor New Product Introduction and Business Sustaining projects for the Automotive and ICT markets. Your role involves facilitating project reviews, ensuring Lean Product Development compliance, and managing cross-functional teams.
You'll handle bottlenecks, risks, escalations, and tradeoffs using Lean principles to deliver projects on spec, on time, and within budget. Ideal candidates have technical project management experience, preferably in sensors and the automotive industry.
Responsibilities
Project Approval Committee (PAC) facilitation
- Conducting cross function portfolio review meeting to get phase gates of projects approved
- Schedule & facilitate weekly PAC meetings and document PAC decisions.
- Continuously pick-up on feedback / best practices to introduce new processes or modify existing processes to better the process of LEANPD.
- Work with Finance to review Capital Expense Requests and Profit / Loss of critical project requests and align with project teams and Senior Leadership Team
Project Manager Activities
Leverage structured new product development process and stage gate frameworks to lead project activities from initial RFQ through the entire project development and release lifecycleKeep projects on track and ensure timely completion within the defined scopeWork in conjunction with Engineering, Product Management, Business Development, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Finance and SalesConduct regular frequency of project meetings, maintain action RAIL, document all information and ensure meeting minutes and all data and information is appropriately sharedRegularly publish progress status reports to leadership and stakeholders highlighting achievements, milestone deliveries and associated metricsUnderstand, track and articulate issues / risks / action items; work with responsible owners to address the items on a timely basis; update the appropriate stakeholders as neededResponsible for the scope of the project and the achievement of objectives : financial commitments, project timelines and milestones, and product qualityWhat your background should look like :
YOU MUST HAVE
Bachelor's Degree in technical discipline1-3+ yrs experience in Project Management / PMO, having good knowledge in Project management, including full lifecycle developmentsExperience with requirements definition, defining project scope and managing scope creep, identifying and mitigating risks, identifying and managing critical dependenciesFinancial awareness, with experience in project budgets and P&LExperience leading global technology and product development teams in a cross-functional, multi-site environmentExceptional fluency in EnglishExcellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with leadership, stakeholders, cross functional teams (engineering, product management, manufacturing, quality, purchasing, finance, sales) and subject matter experts.Analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skillsAbility to drive to big picture goals and milestones while valuing and maintaining strong attention to the detailsWillingness to travel as required, 10-25%WE VALUE
